Беседа на освећењу храма Богородице Фароске у великом царском дворцу у Цариграду (864 г)

Abstract

Беседа о освећењу обновљеног храма Богородице Фароске, Светог Фотија, позната је као Десета омилија из 864. године, коју је патријарх произнео у присуству цара Михаила ИИИ (856-867) и кесара Варде, брат царице Теодоре. Повод за ову беседу је обнављање храма Пресвете Богородице Фароске у царском дворцу у Цариграду. Беседник описује велелепни храм изнутра што је врло значајно за историчаре уметности и иконописце. Најпре говори о предворју храма који је саздан од мермера. Сам наос храма је прекрасно украшен. Патријарх говори о позлаћеним мозаицима, о стубовима покривеним сребром, олтарској прегради у стубовима и киворију на Св. трапези у олтару који је позлаћен и задивљује посматрача остављајући дубок и незабораван утисак као да се налази на небу. У шестом одељку беседе Патријарх је конкретнији јер говори о појединостима храма: у куполи храма насликан је Господ Христос Сведржитељ (Пантократор); у полусводовима су осликани Ангели који носе Господа. У апсиди олтарске преграде осликана је лик Пресвете Богородице са раширеним рукама (позната сцена Богородице 'Ширшаја небес' - шира од небеса); северне и јужнезидове испуњавају ликови Патријараха, Пророка, Апостола, Мученика, из Старог или Новог Завета. Храм својом лепотом превазилази, како Мојсејев шатор (скинија) у Старом Завету, тако и предивни Соломонов храм у Јерусалиму, јер је 'саздан од благодати и Духа'. Патријарх беседу завршава констатацијом да је речима немогуће описати неисказану красоту сазданог храма. Превод је значајан за расправе и истраживања на тему иконографског програма у храмовима и за методологију савременог живописања.

St Photius homily on consecration of restored church dedicated to Theotokos from Pharos, is actually famous Tenth homily from 864, which was given before the Emperor Michael III (856-867) and his chief minister Barda, brother of Empress Theodora. Homily was given to edify congregation on the occasion of renewal of a church of The Most Holy Mother of God from Pharos in imperial court in Constantinople. Restorer of a church was Michael III, to whom the Patriarch address at the beginning of a homily, eulogized him for his outstanding merit and victories over enemies. Preacher depicted magnificent temple indoors. It is a really significant data for Historians of Art as well as icon painters. He spoke firstly about atrium built of marble. Cella (naos) of the church was decorated impressive. The Patriarch described golden-plated mosaics, pillars silver plated, altar septum supported with columns and ciborium covering Holy Table in golden-plated altar to astonish observer making a great and unforgettable impression as being in Heaven. In chapter six of homily the Patriarch is more concrete spoke of elements of temple: fresco of Christ Pantocrator occupied the space in the central dome; semi ceiling were decorated with fresco-angels carrying the Lord. Inside the apsis behind the altar rail was decorated with scene of All Holy Mother of God with spread arms (famous scene of Mother of God - 'Širšaja nebes' - wider than the Heaven); walls on the south and north were decorated by images of Patriarch, Prophets, Apostles, Martyrs, from the Old or New Testament. Temple with its beauty overwhelmed the Tent of Moses (Tabernacle) depicted in Old Testament, magnificent King Solomon's Temple in ancient Jerusalem, 'hast created by the grace and the Holy Spirit'. The Patriarch concluding homily by sentence that it would not be possible to described the beauty of the temple. Translation is important for further discussion and research topics on iconographic program in the temples as well as for the methodology of modern fresco painting.
